MG Tree Service removes trees, clears overgrown backyards and grinds stumps for homeowners across Chesterfield County. Lots here are often large and wooded, so many jobs combine a few removals with brush clearing and stump grinding to turn crowded woods back into usable yard.
Chesterfield, VA
Chesterfield is the biggest county in the Richmond area, and much of it is still wooded. Subdivisions around Chesterfield Courthouse, Midlothian and Matoaca were built into pine and hardwood forest, and many homes sit on half an acre or more with trees on three sides.
That space is a big reason people move here, and over time it becomes the main source of tree work. Volunteer pines and sweetgums creep in from the edge of the lot, the back of the yard turns into brush, and the tall trees that once framed the house now lean over it. The jobs we do most in Chesterfield are pine removals, backyard clearing and stump grinding, often all on the same property.
Our lot clearing page shows a real job of exactly this kind: a dense strip of pines and hardwoods behind a wood fence, cleared down to open ground with the fence and the neighbors untouched.

What we do here
Good to know
For a normal tree on your own residential lot, Chesterfield County usually does not require a permit. Larger land clearing can be different, especially near streams and wetlands. Chesterfield has Resource Protection Areas under the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act, and clearing inside those buffers can be restricted.
If the area you want cleared is near a creek, a pond or low wet ground, check with the county before the work. If you are in a neighborhood like Brandermill with an active HOA, check the covenants too.
Big Chesterfield lots usually give us good access for the truck and chipper, which keeps larger clearing jobs efficient.
